Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Titus 2:13

Aloha Girls!

Everyone loves a LOVE story. Don’t you agree? Maybe that’s why we like fairy tales so much. Those ‘Once upon a time’ stories, that take you into fantasyland where dreams always come true. Most of us grew up with stories like Cinderella, Snow White and the Princess Bride (my favorite). There’s a lot of action and extraordinary adventure! There’s a hero; he’s the good guy rescuing the lady in distress. There’s a bad guy; the villain, who adds drama, disappointment and struggle. BUT in the end, the good always overcomes the bad, and dreams are fulfilled. True love is found and they live happily ever after. It’s a great love story, but the sad part is that it didn’t really happen.

BUT…  the greatest LOVE story ever told, is absolutely true! This real LOVE story, is about a love relationship between God and His people. There is genuine heart-felt love letters written on the pages of your Bible from beginning (Genesis) to end (Revelation). It’s filled with action and adventure! There’s a King who was looking for love. He’s the hero who cast off His robes and takes on a new identity in order to meet the Bride of His dreams (that’s you). There is a villain, named Satan, who brings much drama, heartache, discouragement and struggles. But in the end, we know the good always overcomes the bad. True love is found and they live happily ever after…

BUT… we aren’t at the end of our story yet. We are living in the in-between time. There is a grand royal wedding on the horizon a-coming! It’s a heavenly wedding between Christ and His Bride, the Church. Scripture tells us that no one knows the day or the hour of Christ’s return. To better understand this concept; In Jewish Culture, weddings were arranged by the parents. They entered a covenant called a betrothal, but the Bride didn’t know the date or time of her wedding day. Can you imagine how difficult that would be? Her Groom would go prepare a place for her, and told her – I’ll be back. Listen for the trumpet of my return. It could be up to a year before he would return for her and they would be wed. In the meantime, during her waiting period, she needed to read her love letters to remind her of His love for her. She was to watch, to prepare for her wedding day and be alert for His soon return.

In the same way, if you are a Christian, you have been betrothed to Christ. He is our heavenly Bridegroom. We are engaged/promised (so to speak) to Him. It’s so easy these days for our hearts to get weighed down with the cares of this life, and forget what glory lies ahead of us as Christians. As a woman in 2023, are you looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ? Our upcoming DAY-Treat is about this idea. It’s called, “Here Comes the Groom.” Mark your calendar for Saturday August 26th @ Camp Homelani. Registration begins the end of July. We pray that it will be a time of fellowship, encouragement, and a fresh stirring of your love for Jesus.

God bless you, Karen
