CENTRAL AMERICA (Mexico & Costa Rica)

Kevin & Amber Carrillo lead our Central America Short-Term Mission Teams.

Mexico: Our focus has shifted in Mexico after more than 25 years of teams going from NSCF to Puerto Escondido, Mexico. We are now working alongside John and Roxanne Abilla in Cacalote, a little fishing town about 40 minutes north of Puerto. They serve at the Roca Blanca Mission Base and we have taken teams twice now to serve alongside them at the trade schools there. We have also gone along with teams on medical missions and into the neighboring mountains to help the local churches there.

Costa Rica: It has always been on Kevin’s heart to take teams to Costa Rica. in 2022, the Lord opened the door to take our first two teams down to work with Homes for Hope, a local organization that builds homes for families in need. We hope to continue taking teams down and expand the outreach with youth days and work alongside the local church there in their feeding program.

COSTA RICA MISSION UPDATE - JANUARY 2024

An update from Kevin Carrillo, who is currently serving on a Short Term Mission in Costa Rica. He has been working with our missionary partners, Kenneth & Elena Orozco, and a small team to put the roof together for a local Mechanic Shop. The shop owner has been trying to do this for years, and the team was able to complete the project in about 8 days. In fact, the roof was built so fast that some local people started questioning how this could have happened and started telling lies about where the money must have come from. The shop owner's wife was able to tell them she had been praying for a long time and God answered her prayer.

Kenneth's ministry will be able to use this shop as a multi-purpose gathering place for the community. They want to teach kids how to work on cars, present movies and use it for other ministry events. The completed shop will be named North Shore Body Shop as a way of showing appreciation to the NSCF church body.

In addition to completing the roof on the shop, Kevin and the team were able to build a roof over the patio of the shop owner's 2 bedroom home, giving them some extra outdoor living space since they are a family of 5.
